As the year comes to a close I’ve been playing with metal leaf. Here are a few images that I have created using gold, silver and copper leaf.You can see more of these images in the Silver and Gold gallery, and I shall be adding more as the project evolves. It was originally inspired by the W.B. Yeats poem Song of the Wandering Aegnus, and also the work of early fairy tale illustrators such as Arthur Rackham, Edward Dulac and W. Heath Robbison, whose images filled my childhood and are still with me today.
